We talk to blockchain innovator Andy Gray, co-founder of BlockRocket.tech in this episode of Let's Get Disruptive!
With an expansive resumé and over 20 years of commercial experience developing enterprise IT systems, Andy decided to shift his focus to the exciting realm of emerging blockchain and distributed ledger technologies just over two years ago when he co-founded BlockRocket.tech.
BlockRocket helps their clients to understand how Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) can be applied to their business, guiding them through the whole process from design to prototype to production-ready application.
With a career that spans being a software architect, a scrum master, an agile team leader, a developer across multiple languages AND a consultant at some of the UK's biggest and most recognised tech-focused brands including Equal Experts, The Co-Op, William Hill, Barclays and Barclaycard to name a few - calling Andy an expert within his field would be an understatement.
In this episode, Andy gives us an insight into what it means to be a genuine industry disruptor and provides an exploration into the world of blockchain.
From influencing on how the Government should support the use of emerging technologies and the business benefits of designing marketplaces based on blockchain for products such as digital art, Andy also shares the challenges and opportunities of being innovators in a space where demand has to be created, plus the advantages of being part of the thriving, collaborative community in Manchester's tech scene.
